About | The Unfolding
Welcome to this space.
A little glimpse into my story.
I am Laurie Dorothy Jeanne Gutteridge. I am the mother of Jack, the sister of Annie, the daughter of Jenny, the granddaughter of Dorothy & Jeanne, the great-granddaughter of Ernestine, Marie, Gertrude Ellen & Mary.
I am a Space holder, weaver, energy worker, business guide but I have been many a thing over the years & very much live in the feeling – if that makes sense !
I walk with people on their journey home to themselves. It is such a privilege to accompany, witness & celebrate them.
Whether you’re entering a new chapter, navigating grief, seeking clarity in your work or simply longing to slow down & be held, you’re welcome here.
I believe it is all within. We simply owe to pause long enough to listen.
A path shaped by cycles
Six years ago, on a windy day, I connected to a stillness and strength within me. A deep knowing that felt unwavering, even as the world around me felt chaotic. That moment marked the beginning of my journey of self-remembrance.
A few years earlier, the threshold that is motherhood cracked me open and showed me just how much of myself I had lost. I had shapeshifted through much of life. But this time asked something else of me.
I had the privilege to say goodbye to my Dad not long after, to care and love him until the end. Another threshold. A paradox of grief and gratitude. Of loss and eternal gain.
It was also a moment of true appreciation for the cycle of life, for nature & for the flow of it all.
It unlocked a depth I hadn’t connected to in a long, long time.
Through these cycles, I remembered the thread that weaves through us all. I remembered my heart. My essence. And continue to do so as I walk this path.
What guides my work
Simplicity
I believe it is by going back to the basics & cultivating simplicity that we experience the wonders in our lives.
Contemplation
I believe in the power of pausing to reflect, feel and listen more deeply. To ourselves, to others & to the world.
Connection
I believe we must look at life, at the world as a whole. We are all part of the same beautiful living ecosystem.
Some things you might like to know
I once owned a small delicatessen. A space that brought my love of food and community together.
I left a piece of my heart in New Zealand 12 years ago whilst living there. One of my most treasured time.
I get things wrong, I take things to heart & I am grateful for both. Forever learning & growing.
I once travelled to the Lake District to scope places to create a studio/café/inn, all whilst having no fund to my name. Do I dream big & get carried away ? Yes, definitely ! But I love the potential of life, the potential for growth & beauty when people & communities gather.
The dreams might fade, change or crumble but the essence always lives on & feeds my every move. It is my joy. And one day, I will open those doors.
